How to make NAND Flash test

Dear support team,

can you recommend a way, how to estimate number of bad blocks in the NAND Flash?

Maybe it is possible to use SAM-BA for such a purpose?

Or is there a Linux user space software to look at health state of NAND Flash?

Best wishes.

Re: How to make NAND Flash test

SAM-BA already has a script for that. After enabling the NAND, choose "List Bad Blocks" from the list of scripts and execute it.
On the latest chips, it is likely to find no bad block at all while on older chips there certainly is a longer list (but still fulfilling the 2% max. count for bad blocks).

Please be sure to use our scripts from http://www.armbedded.eu/node/8 in order to get your board initialised properly.
