stamp9g20; AT91-ADC.10419.patch no module created

I did all instructions from document 339, 'using ADC on AT91SAM9G20...'. But if I re-compile the kernel, there was no build of a at91-adc.ko. In the directory is the at91-adc.c and a at91-adc.o
I used the linux-2.6.29-stamp9g20 from CD and the patch from online documentation

Re: stamp9g20; AT91-ADC.10419.patch no module created

It seems that you didn't compile the driver as a module but backed it into the kernel, directly. There should be no problem in doing this; everything should work as described except that loading and unloading the driver is not necessary/possible.

Re: stamp9g20; AT91-ADC.10419.patch no module created

I did missunderstand something in the Linux Guide, now it's clear.

I changed in menuconfig 'Embedded ADC on AT91' to 'M'odule and now I can find a at91-adc.ko. I think the description in the 339-document in not clear at this point.

Thank you, I added the corresponding hint to http://www.armbedded.eu/node/339.
