Stamp 9G20 Uboot - loading file from FAT to RAM - memory map

We want to load several files from a FAT file system into RAM during the boot process (Uboot-fatload). For example to run scripts from a specific address, compare values and so on. Which areas in RAM can be used without any danger?

Re: Stamp 9G20 Uboot - loading file from FAT to RAM - memory map

In addition to the topic above I´d like to know how to access the SD card with fatxxx commands in U-boot. 'fatinfo mmc' gives out '** Invalid boot device **' while 'fatinfo usb' prompts me to give a device even if no usb-device is plugged in. Is it possible that 'mmc' is non valid device type anyway in your u-boot version?

Re: Stamp 9G20 Uboot - loading file from FAT to RAM - memory map

I have a Stamp9G20 that is connected to a Panel-Card EVB.

Should the mmcinit command exist in U-Boot 2009.03?
If using Windows 7 32-bit which version of SAM-BA is recommended? I still cannot see my board as a USB when I plug in to XP or Windows 7. I have shorted J5 which should make it it boot from ROM. I assume if I want to replace the mtd1 partition that contains uboot I should get this SAM-BA stuff working in case I break U-Boot.

Thanks for your help. I cam confused when I read http://www.armbedded.eu/node/8

Please always use SAM-BA version 2.10.

I heavily reworked the SAM-BA guide. When using Stamp9G20 on EVB do not use J5 (BMS) on EVB but the method described in the how to. Hopefully, this issue is described more clear now.
